Great western
The Great Western Hotel in Orange, NSW is a historic pub and accommodation venue with deep ties to the region’s rail heritage. With a new renovation underway I was tasked with evolving its brand to reflect both its past and its modern transformation. Through in-depth research of the hotel’s history, I developed the new identity to give it a strong sense of place while appealing to a contemporary audience.
Through the process I reimagined the logo, introducing modern fonts with railway influence and an updated icon that preserved the hotel’s heritage while giving it a fresh, modern edge.
The project included the creation of two distinct bar brands—Kenna’s and Lola’s—each with its own unique identity, art-directed to feel independent yet unified within the broader brand vision. This cohesive approach extended across all brand touch-points, including signage, menus, branding elements and social media, ensuring a sophisticated and unified experience for guests.
